Walman's Revenge Sparks Epic Stanley Cup Brawl Before It Erupts

Edmonton Oilers defenseman Jake Walman was livid after Florida Panthers star A.J. Greer yanked off his glove, leading to a water bottle spray over the Panthers' bench.

Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals saw an early lead for Florida with Brad Marchand scoring within the first minute , setting the pace for the rest of the game. By the end of the second period, the Panthers were up 4-1, but Walman found himself in multiple on-ice skirmishes as tempers flared.

After Greer provoked Walman by snatching his glove and tossing it onto the Florida bench, the Oilers ' defenseman retaliated by dousing them with his water bottle. The feud between Walman and Greer continued as they headed towards their respective benches near the end of the second period.

Walman body-checked Greer into the boards, who responded by ripping off Walman's glove and hurling it onto the Florida bench. Walman then unleashed a spray from his water bottle and was seen yelling at Panthers' defenseman Seth Jones, who appealed to the officials to intervene.

Jones' plea fell on deaf ears, but Walman might face a fine from the NHL for his antics. Prior to Monday's showdown, the Oilers and Panthers were neck and neck, each clinching an overtime win in Games 1 and 2.

Leon Draisaitl emerged as the savior for Edmonton in Game 1, securing a 4-3 victory for the Oilers with his overtime goal.

In Game 2, Florida Panthers clawed back with Brad Marchand netting the game-winning goal in a 5-4 victory over Edmonton Oilers, evening out the series. While the Panthers showed grit on the road, the Oilers seemed to lose their mojo on home turf.

Marchand's quick-fire goal within the first minute was followed by Carter Verhaeghe's power-play score. However, Oilers' seasoned player Corey Perry managed to get Edmonton on the scoreboard at the onset of the second period.

The Panthers retaliated swiftly, with Sam Reinhart and Sam Bennett extending the lead to 4-1.

Aaron Ekblad, Panthers' defenseman, further widened the gap to 5-1 as the third period kicked off, prompting a goalie switch for the Oilers. Calvin Pickard stepped in for Stuart Skinner, whose postseason performance has been shaky.

The game took a heated turn with ten minutes left on the clock when Trent Frederic of the Oilers cross-checked Bennett, sparking a full-blown brawl on the ice that halted the game for several minutes.

Marchand, Greer, and Bennett were slapped with minor penalties, while Frederic and Perry faced disciplinary action for the Oilers. The main showdown was between Darnell Nurse of the Oilers and Jonah Gadjovic of the Panthers, both earning game misconducts.

Officials then decided to issue game misconducts to the Edmonton pair of Frederic and Mattias Ekholm, but more teammates quickly followed them to the locker room. Evander Kane was thrown out after a slashing call, and Kasperi Kapanen was ejected for cross-checking.

The ice turned into a circus as play barely lasted a minute between stoppages, with the tension escalating. Evan Rodrigues then added insult to injury for Edmonton, scoring on the power-play to make it 6-1.
