Alexandria Police Confirm Homicide After April 12 Beating Leads to Man's Death

A man who was assaulted earlier this month passed away due to his injuries, and authorities have determined his death to be a homicide.
On April 12, Jerry Chesser, who is 58 years old, was attacked in the 100 block of MacArthur Drive, near where Coliseum Drive joins MacArthur. After responding to the call, officers from the Alexandria Police Department took Chesser to a medical facility.
On Tuesday, he passed away, and an autopsy conducted on Wednesday determined that Chesser's death was classified as a homicide, according to a press statement released by the department.
