Easy Air Fryer Bagels

Here is how to make these easy bagels.

Servings:

  • 2 bagels

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 3/4 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 egg (separate the white and yolk)

Optional Ingredients:

  • salt and / or sugar a pinch at a time (optional)
  • Sesame seeds or other flavor additions (optional)

Instructions:

To get started, you will want to set your fryer temperature to 375°F (190°C) and leave it to pre-heat while you make your bagel batter.

Separate the egg white from the yolk.

Set the yolk aside. You'll use this in a couple of minutes.

Mix the egg white with the yogurt.

If desired, you can also add a small amount of salt and sugar to your tastes. This is optional.

Add the flour in batches and start kneading with a spoon or use your dough attachment on your stand mixer .

Gently knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic. If you need to, knead the dough with your hands.

If the dough is too sticky, you can lightly dust your hands and work surface with flour.

Divide the dough into two equal portions.

Roll each portion of the dough into a ball and then flatten it into a disk.

Then use your finger to poke a hole in the center, forming the classic bagel shape.

Using a brush, brush the egg yolk onto the top of each bagel. This step not only gives a glossy shine, but also helps additional toppings stick.

If desired, you can sprinkle with sesame seeds or add in additional flavors.

Place the bagels in the preheated basket of the deep fryer so that they are well spaced apart.
