The White Lotus The star made an entrance in New York City on May 5 when he attended the yearly fundraising event for the first time ever, supporting the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

For his first appearance at the Metropolitan Opera, the 53-year-old swapped the colorful Hawaiian shirts he famously wore on the HBO show for an unconventional outfit: a reversible black skirt crafted by designer Thom Browne, paired with a white shirt and a black tie. Participants at this year’s gala, including his co-actors Patrick Schwarzenegger and Aimee Lou Wood , received a "Customized for You" dress code, with the museum explaining it was "specifically created to offer direction and encourage creative expression." These instructions aim to assist visitors in capturing the spirit of the event. event’s theme for 2025 —"Superfine: Tailoring Black Style"—highlighting the museum’s newest exhibit focusing on the development of fashion among Black men.

Walton's appearance at the Met Gala marks the beginning of a hectic week for the actor, during which he is scheduled to Saturday Night Live hosting debut On May 10 with musical guest Arcade Fire A few weeks prior, the nightly comedy program included a parody of The White Lotus Titled "The White POTUS," and although Walton praised the sketch as “amazingggg” on social media, his co-star Aimee was less enthused (She subsequently mentioned that she had been apologized to by the people involved with the show.)
