An 80-year-old Vietnam veteran crossed the stage at South Carolina State University to receive his diploma.

Before completing his college education, Linwood Riddick was enlisted in the Navy. However, his aspirations remained intact. After retiring at 72, he returned to academia to fulfill his unfinished goals.

During his time at the college, he thoroughly embraced the campus life, going so far as to join the university's concert choir as an actively participating member.

During his graduation ceremony, the audience burst into applause as he crossed the stage to get his diploma for a degree in music business.

Riddick was welcomed by SC State President Alexander Conyers, who said to him, "You inspire each and every one of us."
