Veterinary Innovations Forum Kicks Off at Jordan University of Science, Technology

Ramtha, May 7 (Petra) — The inaugural Clinical Student Forum of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Jordan University of Science and Technology kicked off on Wednesday with the theme “Conference on Veterinary Innovations.”

The inauguration of the event was carried out by Vice President Dr. Bashir Khasawneh, representing the university president, with Dr. Mona Abu Dalo present among others. It attracted significant involvement from students, professors, experts, and participants associated with the field of veterinary science.

The main objective of this conference is to showcase innovative work and projects from students that exemplify progress in both science and application within the field of veterinary medicine. It also seeks to inspire students to actively participate in conducting scientific studies and adopting an evidence-backed approach in their clinical practices.

Khasawneh characterized the event during his speech as a significant step towards nurturing student creativity and innovation, which resonates well with the university’s overarching strategy aimed at enhancing educational quality and advancing scholarly investigation. He further emphasized that these forums act as connectors between theoretical learning and practical application, bolstering analytical skills and encouraging intellectual exchange among participants.

He similarly praised the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine along with the various organizing committees for their hard work, encouraging ongoing backing for comparable programs aimed at nurturing an enlightened and skilled youth populace.

The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Maysar Akash, stated that the forum showcases the college's dedication to merging theoretical education with hands-on practice. She emphasized its importance as a significant step towards boosting students' scientific and investigative abilities, particularly in honing their clinical techniques and analytical reasoning.

Akash highlighted that the forum provides an interactive space for showcasing student projects and sharing information. She showed gratitude towards the ongoing backing from the private sector for academic research at the institution.

Dr. Samih Abu Tarboush, who leads the Veterinary Hospital and Rehabilitation Center at the Jordanian National Centre for Police Dogs, outlined several intricate medical conditions that have been accurately identified and effectively managed by their facility. This highlights both the expertise of the team and the sophisticated clinical instruction offered to learners. Dr. Tarboush emphasized how this institution serves as a key component in providing hands-on educational opportunities for students.

The event consisted of multiple scientific sessions and workshop segments focusing on recent advancements in animal health diagnosis and therapy. Additionally, it showcased cutting-edge student initiatives aimed at tackling industry issues and enhancing practical skills with contemporary technological tools.
