Tonight's Storm Odds: High; Unsettled Weather Looms All Week
Columbus, GA (WRBL)—Good Wednesday morning! The overnight rain has tapered off, leaving high humidity in its wake. Expect patches of fog to form as dawn approaches.
Throughout the morning, clouds will persist before shifting towards greater sunbreaks mixed with cloud cover during the afternoon and into the early evening. Today’s high temperatures are expected to climb to the middle to upper 80s as the day progresses with increasing sunlight predicted.
There is a possibility of some thunderstorms moving into the far south region of the area late tonight, however, this will be our sole opportunity for precipitation today.
Thursday night will turn cloudy and increasingly humid, with a higher chance of fog forming in regions affected by Wednesday’s thunderstorms. Temperatures will drop close to 70 degrees Fahrenheit for the low tonight into early Thursday morning. There could be scattered rain showers approaching dawn on Thursday.
On Thursday, there is a possibility of continuous showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Some areas might experience these conditions becoming moderately to severely intense.
On Friday, we'll finally see a tangible cold front moving through, bringing with it drier weather. However, there could also be a risk of potent and potentially destructive winds as this front passes through.
A more pleasant and peaceful weekend is ahead with slightly reduced humidity and temperatures ranging from the middle to the lower 80s.
