EASTPOINTE, Mich. (FOX 2) - On Monday evening, a 19-year-old female surrendered to the Eastpointe police department. She was charged with shooting four individuals, resulting in two fatalities.

The backstory

The Saturday shooting murdered two of the victims in front of the Foot Locker store located on Eight Mile Road. A person passed away at the location, while another individual succumbed to their injuries at a close-by medical facility.

According to investigators, the incident began as an argument between two familiar parties before escalating from a physical altercation to gunplay.

Fortunately, no innocent bystanders were struck by random gunfire," stated Det. Lt. Alexander Holish from the Eastpointe police department. "We are extremely fortunate that the bullets did not penetrate the store and injure those who had merely come to make purchases.

According to law enforcement, all the males who were killed were young, reportedly in their 20s and 30s.

“You’ve got an entire neighborhood affected once more due to yet another pointless act of violence,” stated Oliver Gantt, a community advocate. “Individuals should discuss their issues before they go into the community and instigate such scenarios.”

The fatal shooting causes significant emotional damage, according to Gantt.
