To emphasize even more the politically charged nature of the event—Robert De Niro received an honorary Palme d’Or from Leonardo DiCaprio, criticized President Donald Trump, and issued a call to action For the artists present in the room ("We must take action, and we must do so immediately," he stated) — Tarantino figuratively threw down his microphone on stage.

Tarantino indeed got a chance to relax beneath the spotlight with him. One upon a time in Hollywood Starring DiCaprio, after he announced the commencement of the festival and then vanished behind the curtains with a comical sidestep, Tarantino came back onto the central platform to accompany DiCaprio, De Niro, Binoche, event emcee Laurent Lafitte, entertainer Mylène Farmer, along with the panel jurors for additional photo sessions and to savor the moment. Details about how Tarantino concluded his night have not been disclosed yet, but one can imagine it was as dramatic as only a film could be.
