Sunshine and Heat Return With Scattered Storms Today

WHAT TO EXPECT

The early morning rain ceases just before dawn, leaving behind scattered clouds and occasional showers throughout the morning. The temperature at daybreak is around 63 degrees.

On Wednesday, the morning will be overcast with intermittent showers. However, during the latter part of the day, patches of sunlight may appear as clouds clear up periodically. This additional warmth could trigger isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon which would gradually shift eastward through the evening. The temperature in Knoxville is slightly below average, reaching about 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Additionally, we can expect winds from the southwest blowing at speeds between 10 to 15 miles per hour, with occasional gusts up to 20 mph.

Tonight will return to being mostly cloudy with scattered rainfall. The temperature will remain mild tonight, dropping down to 64 degrees.

LOOING AHEAD

On Thursday, temperatures will also reach the high 70s, accompanied by mostly cloudy skies and intermittent rainfall evolving into widespread showers and thunderstorms during the afternoon hours.

The following frontal system will bring additional rainfall into the region late Thursday night extending into Friday. Early morning showers and thunderstorms will pass through, followed by isolated showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon hours. As a result, we'll experience cooler temperatures around 73 degrees.

This upcoming weekend is expected to warm up once more, reaching into the high 70s. There might be some isolated rainfall and thunderstorms on Saturday. On Sunday, we will keep an eye on intermittent precipitation and storm activity as they may affect various sections of our region.
