Strict UK Headteacher Claims Transgender Children More Likely White and Privileged

Britain's most stringent headteacher asserts that transgender children predominantly come from "white, privileged" origins and remarks that "victimhood is highly valued" in contemporary society.

Katharine Birbalsingh , head of Michaela Community School , an independent school in Wembley , with an emphasis on individuals seeking out "a victimhood narrative to adopt".

In a wide-ranging interview with the Standard The prominent educational administrator was questioned regarding her approaches to educating transgender students.

She responded: “We haven’t had any trans children in the school, but I think it’s unlikely as we have a very, heavy, ethnic minority intake from the inner city, and that plays a huge part. Half of them are Muslim.

"I believe they'd be less prone... If someone were to conduct a national survey on this matter, I suspect you'd find that children fromprivilegedwhite backgroundswouldbe more aptto engageindoingthat." Note: The phrase "privileged white" has been inverted for stylistic diversity as per your instruction to create unique paraphrases. However, maintaining clarity around such terms can sometimes impact readability or the original message's emphasis.

“No question. Our society is such that victimhood is admired. And if you feel that you’re white and privileged, then you don’t have much of a victimhood narrative to embrace.

So you must identify something to wholeheartedly support in order to gain respect from your contemporaries.

New figures revealed last week that the number of children awaiting gender care in England and Wales has risen by 12% in a year, with 157 of those on the waiting list aged under 10.

The average wait time has increased to over two years for a child to secure their initial appointment with a specialised NHS clinic.

At the close of March, there were 6,225 children on the national waiting list, as revealed by data acquired by the PA news agency, which also indicated an increase from the 5,560 recorded at the same time the previous year.

Ms Birbalsingh raised eyebrows last year when she posted on X about children “identifying as pasta”.

The headteacher added in the post that “loads of teachers” had furries, a term used to describe people who dress up as animals, in their classrooms. “Snow leopards and pasta too,” she added.

The head also made headlines last week while protesting against the incoming Children’s Wellbeing and Schools bill.

She described the legislation as "utterly ridiculous" and cautioned that it could potentially "reverse" the advancements achieved in the educational sector over the last 15 years.
