If sharing your Android phone's hotspot information manually seems cumbersome, consider generating a QR code for others to scan with their devices and get connected to your hotspot. The process is simpler than you may assume.
I have performed the following steps on a Google Pixel 9 Pro XL running Android 15. The steps will slightly vary depending on your phone model.
Step 1. Set Up and Enable Your Android Hotspot
Prior to generating a QR code , set up and turn on your Android device's Wi-Fi tethering . You’ll configure the wireless network name and the password.
To do that, on your phone, navigate to Settings > Network & Internet > Hotspot & Tethering and tap "Wi-Fi Hotspot." On the following page, tap "Hotspot Name" and type the name you want for your Wi-Fi network. Tap "Hotspot Password" and type the password you’d like to use. Then, turn on the "Use Wi-Fi Hotspot" toggle.

Optionally, on the same page, you can configure other hotspot options. For example, if you want your phone to disable the hotspot when no devices are connected to it, turn on the "Turn Off Hotspot Automatically" option. You can also choose the security type and other options.
Step 2. View Your Android Hotspot’s QR Code
Now that you’ve set up and enabled your Wi-Fi hotspot, let’s access its QR code. On your phone, head into Settings > Network & Internet > Hotspot & Tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot. Next to Hotspot Name, tap the QR code icon.

You must verify your identity through your chosen authentication method. After doing so, you will be shown the QR code for your hotspot. Beneath the QR code, you'll find the password for the hotspot. Step 3. Scan the QR code of your Android hotspot from another device.
On another device you wish to link with your Android smartphone's mobile hotspot, start the native Camera application . Aim the camera at your phone’s QR code. Afterward, press "Connect" or "Join" to link this device to your hotspot.
If the native Camera application is unable to scan the QR code, try using an alternative one. free Google Lens app or obtain a QR code reader application from the Google Play Store.
How to Retrieve the Hotspot QR Code at a Later Time
You can consistently find your Android hotspot’s QR code by navigating to Settings > Network & Internet > Hotspot & Tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot and then tapping the QR code icon beside the Hotspot Name. capture an image of the QR code To share it with others seamlessly.

Use Quick Share
An alternative method for sharing your hotspot information can be achieved through the use of Android’s Quick Share function. Start by navigating to Settings > Network & Internet > Hotspot & Tethering > Wi-Fi Hotspot, then select the QR code icon adjacent to the Hotspot Name field. Scroll down until you find “Quick Share” at the base of the page; once selected, proceed to the subsequent screen where you will pick the specific device intended to receive the hotspot access.
Manually Create a QR Code for Your Wi-Fi Network
If the QR code for your phone's built-in hotspot isn’t scannable, you have the option to Manually generate a QR code For your hotspot, you can achieve this by utilizing free websites such as QR Code Generator and QRCode Monkey .
To utilize QRCode Monkey, navigate to its website first. Click on the “WiFi” option located at the top of the page. Enter your hotspot’s name into the “Wireless SSID” box. Next, input your hotspot’s password in the corresponding “Password” section. Use the dropdown menu labeled “Encryption” to select the appropriate security setting for your hotspot. Finally, move slightly downward and press the button marked “Create QR Code.”

Next, select "Download PNG" to save the QR code as a PNG image onto your device.
If Nothing Works, Manually Distribute Your Hotspot’s Information
Should you continue experiencing difficulties linking another device to your Android hotspot, try sharing the login details for the hotspot manually. Go to the Settings app on your Android phone, navigate to Network & Internet, then select Hotspot & Tethering followed by Wi-Fi Hotspot. There, take note of your hotspot’s network name along with the corresponding password.
On another device, go to the Wi-Fi settings, find your hotspot network in the available networks, enter the hotspot password when prompted, and then join the connection.
