Scouts Honor Veterans: Thousands of Flags Blanket Graves in Appleton for Memorial Day

APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – In preparation for Memorial Day, local Boy Scouts assembled in Appleton to place American flags at the gravesites of thousands of veterans.
More than 50 Boy Scouts contributed their help throughout this event, where around 6,000 American flags were placed to honor those who made the supreme sacrifice.
Corvettes of the Bay pays tribute to fallen heroes in anticipation of Memorial Day.
The gathering took place at the Appleton Highland Memorial Park Cemetery between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
On Monday, May 26, Memorial Day will be observed as the country honors the sacrifices made by those who have served.
