Powell: I Never Seek Meetings With Any President

By Michael S. Derby

NEW YORK (The News Pulse) – On Wednesday, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell stated that he does not actively seek meetings with any U.S. presidents. He noted that when these encounters do occur, they happen only because an elected leader initiated the contact.

“I have never requested a meeting with any president and I never will,” Powell stated during a press conference after the conclusion of the Fed’s policy-determining committee meeting. “There has never been a justification for me to request such a meeting; it has consistently been the opposite.”
