Minot musicians embark on trip to Norway

MINOT, N.D. (KMOT) - A band from Minot is taking their skills overseas to perform in Norway.

A group comprising 45 participants from the Minot Chamber Chorale and the Minot State University Choir will embark on a 10-day journey.

Nathan Sagsveen, an MSU choir member, is among the musicians who will be traveling overseas.

It's fitting, as this year commemorates the 200th anniversary of Norwegian emigration to the U.S.

Sagsveen mentioned that the team will join parades, sing Norwegian tunes, explore museums, and engage in additional activities. He also noted that their initial destination would be Skien (SHAY-en), which is Minot’s Norwegian twin city.

"In our chaotic modern world, music has the power to unite people. Therefore, my aim is to maintain a robust connection between these two areas," stated Sagsveen.

A team from Minot undertook a comparable journey about half a decade ago.

We'll touch base with the team for updates on their escapades and converse with them upon their return to the Magic City.
