Mincoqua man faces decades in prison on money, investment fraud charges

MINOCQUA, Wis. (WSAW) -- An individual from Minocqua faces charges related to fraud along with various financial criminal activities.

Cory Kromray, who is 39 years old, faces charges including eight counts of wire fraud and two counts related to conducting financial transactions involving property obtained through illegal activities.

The indictment claims that from September 2018 through April 2025, Kromray received funds from investors with assurances that these would be invested in stock trading, mutual funds, cryptocurrencies, and forex markets. Yet, according to the charges, instead of following through with these investments, Kromray allegedly diverted most of this money for personal use rather than adhering to his commitments.

If found guilty, Kromray could face a total maximum sentence of 30 years when combining all charges.

The probe was carried out by the IRS Criminal Investigation unit along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
