Lawmakers and Leaders Honor Test-Prep Program Success

Moline, Ill. (KWQC) — Officials and educators convened at Western Illinois University to honor the outcomes of a state-wide graduate test preparation initiative on Monday.
The "Prepare for Illinois' Future" initiative provides statewide support for test preparation related to graduate school admissions, professional licensing, and career examinations for all students attending public universities.
Since the initiative began two months back, Western Illinois students have saved over $75,000 on test prep materials thanks to this program.
Leaders in the state anticipate that this motivation for students to study in Illinois will pave the way for a promising future for the region’s workforce.
"If they attend school here in Illinois, they can remain in Illinois, secure a job in Illinois," stated State Senator Mike Halpin.
Throughout Illinois, the initiative has helped students save nearly $8 million in out-of-pocket expenses.
