De La Cruz Slams Two Long Homers as Singer Shines Against Ex-Team, Reds Triumph Over Royals 7-2

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Elly De La Cruz smashed two towering home runs, Brady Singer delivered seven impressive innings against his old club, and the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Kansas City Royals with a score of 7-2 on Tuesday evening.

De La Cruz smashed a 436-foot drive to center field in the fourth inning, tying the game at 2 against Jonathan Bowlan before taking the lead. A 451-foot shot toward the right-center fountain occurred in the sixth inning. Taylor Clarke holds a record of 1-1. De La Cruz boasts eleven home runs this season. He matched Pete Rose’s franchise mark for switch-hitters by having five multi-home run games, with two occurring this year.

The singer (6-3), obtained from the Royals in November, gave up two runs and seven hits.
Tyler Stephenson hit a home run in the second inning, however, Kyle Isbel and Jonathan India responded with RBIs on singles during the bottom of the same frame.
Key momentT.J. Friedl hit a single at the start of the eighth inning and made his way home from first base due to an infield bunt.
