China Fully Respects Denmark’s Sovereignty Over Greenland, Foreign Minister Asserts

BEIJING (The News Pulse)—During a meeting in Beijing on Monday, China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi assured Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen that his country fully respects Denmark’s sovereignty and territorial integrity concerning the matter of Greenland.
China hopes Denmark will "continue to support China's legitimate position on issues concerning China's sovereignty and territorial integrity," Wang said, according to a ministry statement, days after a visit by former Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen to Copenhagen drew strong condemnation from Beijing.

Wang stated that both parties have a "broad agreement" on protecting multilateralism and upholding free trade. He also mentioned that China is eager to enhance communication and collaboration with the European Union.
