Bournemouth Poet's Verse Ignites Artists' Collective

A group of artists plans to reveal new creations inspired by a book written by a poet from Bournemouth.

Comprising six artists, The Expanded Circle will present their newest works at a public exhibition that is free to attend.

The exhibition, which runs from Thursday, June 5 through Monday, June 16, will be held at The Gallery Upstairs located within Upton Country Park in Poole.

The showcased work will draw inspiration from the recent publication of acclaimed Bournemouth poet James Sale. DoorWay , a contemporary take on Dante’s Paradise.

The group includes poet James Sale, multimedia artist Angela Perrett, calligraphy artist Judith Warbey, mixed media artist Linda E Sale, digital artist Mark Burden, and composer Antonino Chiaramonte.

Ms Perrett stated: "This collection features significant excerpts from James' poems, marked by their emotional resonance and individual perspective."

Judith Warbey, a calligraphy artist, stated: "I have interpreted DoorWay as being divided into segments and compiled into a modern book format."

The exhibition will additionally feature extracts from Sale’s book. DoorWay , which ranks as the third in his The English Cantos collection.

The exhibition is accessible each day from 10 am to 4:30 pm, featuring live explanations of the artwork, such as a presentation of Sale’s verses accompanied by music and sounds.
