AI CEO Predicts Developers Will Transform Into 'Builders' in Tech's Next Big Evolution

In the podcast episode, Mohan mentioned that AI is poised to "democratize" software development. Mohan further noted that this shift also alters what startups should seek in engineering candidates during the hiring process.

He mentioned that for the engineers we employ, we aim to seek individuals with significant autonomy who are open to making mistakes and being daring.

He stated that startups should avoid hiring engineers just to "rapidly produce redundant code." He also mentioned that a startup has the potential to thrive even with rather unsightly code.

He mentioned that one of the main reasons startups fail is because they failed to create a product that stood out significantly for their customers.
