Abu Dhabi Set to Host the 25th Global Health Promotion Conference

ABU DHABI, 7th May, 2025 (WAM)-- The emirate of Abu Dhabi will welcome the 25th IUHPE World Conference on Health Promotion from May 13-16, 2025. This event signifies the inaugural occasion where this international assembly takes place in the Middle Eastern region.
Organized jointly by the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) and the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC), this event will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The gathering aims to bring together over 2,000 international experts such as healthcare providers, scientists, teachers, government officials, and activists representing various regions globally.
Titled 'Environments for Planetary Health and Wellness', this four-day gathering will concentrate on practical approaches to tackle worldwide health challenges, including non-communicable illnesses, mental well-being issues, environmental shifts due to climate change, and readiness for unexpected emergencies.
The conference aims to connect theory with application through an array of keynote presentations, elite panel discussions, interactive workshops, and networking sessions. This event will present innovative answers to the toughest issues confronting global societies today.
Dr. Rashed Al Suwaidi, who leads the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre as its Director-General, remarked, "This significant moment highlights Abu Dhabi’s dedication to enhancing international health and sustainability efforts. It signifies our shift towards prioritizing overall wellness rather than just medical care, with an emphasis on prevention, innovation, and environmental wellbeing central to our objectives."
Sione Tu’itahi, the president of IUHPE, stated, "Given that mankind confronts overlapping global health and environmental issues, it holds significant symbolism and importance that we convene for the initial time in the MENA area, often regarded as the birthplace of civilization, to develop joint answers."
In its 74th year, the IUHPE World Conference stands out as the premier global forum for promoting health advancement and education. Choosing Abu Dhabi as the host city underscores the emirate’s increasing role in public health initiatives, research activities, and innovative policymaking.
The conference will address a wide range of topics such as fostering health literacy in environments like educational institutions, workspaces, urban areas, along with discussions on international relations and crisis management. It will also delve into the evolution of digital healthcare solutions and explore strategies for enhancing public policy aimed at improving overall wellness. Additionally, the event will examine the principles of equitable access to health services and discuss targeted approaches to promote precise health interventions.
The request for abstracts garnered international attention, attracting entries from nations such as the UAE, India, Australia, Ghana, Canada, Morocco, the UK, Uganda, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, France, the USA, Zambia, Brazil, and Switzerland.
Through the hosting of the IUHPE 2025 conference, Abu Dhabi reinforces its role as an international hub for healthcare policies, knowledge sharing, and systemic innovations.
