24 More Kentucky Counties Now Eligible for FEMA Assistance: Apply Today!

Twenty-four Kentucky counties have been included in the major disaster declaration after the severe storms in April, making them eligible to seek FEMA aid.

Out of the 24 newly approved counties, multiple are located within the WLKY area:

The other counties that gave approval were:

  • Calloway
  • Daviess
  • Garrard
  • Hancock
  • Hart
  • Henderson
  • Lincoln
  • McLean
  • Muhlenberg
  • Ohio
  • Pendleton
  • Powell
  • Warren
  • Webster

On April 24, 13 counties had already been approved for FEMA assistance.

The application deadline for FEMA aid is June 25.

How to apply

  • Online at DisasterAssistance.gov .
  • Go to any Disaster Recovery Center. To locate one near your area, visit fema.gov/DRC , or send "DRC" followed by your ZIP code to 43362 (Example: “DRC 29169”).
  • Utilize the FEMA mobile application.
  • Contact the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362. The helpline operates from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Time. Assistance can be provided in multiple languages. If you utilize a relay service like VRS, captioned phone, or another type of relay system, provide FEMA with your associated contact number.

Individuals who qualify for FEMA aid can obtain grants for temporary lodging along with costs related to the disaster, including repairing belongings and money for relocation, storage, healthcare, dentistry, and child care services.
