Craig Counsell wants Workman to do well with the Chicago White Sox

Cubs manager Craig Counsell believes that the experience Workman gained from being designated for assignment might benefit the rookie infielder's career progression.
I informed him that just because something isn't a positive encounter doesn't imply it won't aid him in future experiences," Counsell stated. "In general, I believe this turned out to be beneficial for him; however, relaying that information to him feels like sharing unwelcome news.
If he leverages this experience correctly, it will enhance his skills as a baseball player and ensure his place in the majors. After our talk, I am quite certain he’ll become a major-league athlete. I genuinely hope for his success; he’s an excellent young man with considerable talent.
The trade was a win-win for the White Sox. They added a 25-year-old player with plenty of upside.
More importantly, Workman isn’t going to the Detroit Tigers, the team that initially drafted him in 2020.
