Woman Allegedly Steals Items, Returns Them for Refund; Deputies Unveil Twist

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WAFB) - Deputies said they are searching for a woman accused of getting a refund by returning items she allegedly stole from a store.

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that the convenience store alleged to have been robbed by the woman is situated on Highway 445 in Ponchatoula.

Many of the items that the woman got a refund for were taken from store shelves and then presented as previously purchased, deputies said. They added that in other cases, the woman is accused of outright stealing items and then returning to the store to ask for a refund on the items.

The officials stated that all the refund transactions occurred on Wednesday, April 16.
