Winners Crowned in the 2025 Kentucky Derby Festival Marathons

Athletes from across all 50 states and various nations took to the streets on Saturday morning for the race. The 52nd yearly GE Appliances miniMarathon along with the 24th edition of the GE Appliances Marathon.

The 13.1-mile half-marathon and the 26.2-mile full marathon event, which are included in the Kentucky Derby Festival attracts roughly 10,000 to 12,000 runners to Louisville each spring. It is the sole course that ventures into Churchill Downs the iconic racetrack hosting the annual running of the Kentucky Derby.

On Saturday, the races kicked off concurrently at 7 a.m. on Main Street close to Slugger Field. They then meandered through different sections of the city, eventually heading downhill towards the finish line located at Preston and Witherspoon streets, right outside Waterfront Park. Starting out as a modest, community-based running event, this race has since been listed among the Top 100 events according to USA Track and Field , and is acclaimed as the " flattest Boston qualifier" according to the Kentucky Derby Festival.

Notable this year, Olympic Bronze Medal Winner Jenny Simpson secured the runner-up position in the Mini-Marathon Women’s Category with a timing of 1:19:07. The race also saw two participants from Kentucky achieving notable finishes; Corbin Harris from Campbellsville clinched victory in the Mini-Marathon for men after completing the course in 1:08:14, whereas Jacob Kocis from Versailles took the lead in the full Marathon event for men, concluding his run in 2:23:34.
