U.S. Issues Travel Warnings for 10 Countries in April

In April, the U.S. government released travel advisories for ten distinct nations.

The U.S. government releases travel advisories on a daily, weekly, or monthly schedule. Certain months might see just one or two of these alerts being published. However, during other months, as many as ten or more such notices may be released.

The alerts span from Level 1 - Practice Standard Precautions - up to Level 4 - Avoid Traveling Completely.

As of now in April, the U.S. government has released 10 distinct travel advisories for multiple nations across varying risk levels from 1 to 4.

The U.S. Government has issued travel advisories for these 10 distinct nations:

  • Uganda
  • Morocco
  • The Kyrgyz Republic
  • Bangladesh
  • Colombia
  • Burkina Faso
  • Serbia
  • Ghana
  • Kuwait
  • El Salvador

Out of the 10 nations listed, only Burkina Faso was assigned a Level 4 Do Not Travel advisory.

"The warning advises against traveling to Burkina Faso for any purpose because of terrorism, crime, and kidnappings," it reads.

Terrorist attacks can occur at any location without much or any prior notice, employing different methods such as using readily accessible commercial products or resorting to abduction for monetary gain.

The warning indicates that potential targets within the country might encompass:

  • Hotels
  • Restaurants
  • Police stations
  • Customs offices
  • Locations close to or at mining areas
  • Places of worship
  • Military posts
  • Schools

The U.S. government cannot offer help to many individuals across the nation because of safety concerns.

Due to the associated risks, the U.S. government cannot offer emergency assistance to American citizens across much of the nation. Additionally, U.S. government personnel stationed in Burkina Faso are not allowed to venture into areas beyond the capital because of safety issues. the alert states.

In light of the significantly elevated crime levels, the U.S. Embassy advises against U.S. government employees traveling to the Balkiui and Rayongo (or alternatively called Dayongo) areas within Ouagadougou’s 11th District during evening hours.

Three nations were issued Level 3 Reconsider Travel advisories, which include: Uganda, Bangladesh, and Colombia.
