Trump Launches New Initiative to Honor Heroes Ahead of U.S.'s 250th Birthday

President Donald Trump The National Garden of American Heroes has finally secured the required funding right in time for the United States of America’s 250th birthday .
This update pertains to a pledge made by Trump in 2020 to exhibit 250 monuments dedicated to notable personalities in American history. Among those mentioned were John Adams and Clara Barton. Orville and Wilbur Wright , Douglas MacArthur, Martin Luther King Jr., and Christa McAuliffe. The National Endowment for the Humanities and the National Endowment for the Arts are joining forces to fulfill Trump's pledge.
The NEH and NEA together have pledged $34 million for the establishment of the National Garden of American Heroes. Out of this amount, both organizations plan to allocate $30 million from their fiscal year 2025 funds to support the construction of statues made from materials such as marble, granite, bronze, copper, or brass, honoring notable individuals whose contributions shaped U.S. history. According to a press statement, “This new funding opportunity forms part of NEH’s broader A More Perfect Union project aimed at delving into America’s narrative and commemorating its quarter-millennium of cultural legacy.”
The NEH is presently inviting submissions for statue designs. Artists Those selected will receive $200,000 for up to three monuments each. Applications must be submitted by July 1, 2025, providing roughly one year prior to the 250th anniversary celebration.
“By visiting this garden, visitors will be able to acquire a more profound comprehension of how the contributions and experiences of these people have influenced our historical narrative and cultural landscape,” stated Acting NEH Chairman Michael McDonald.
