Trump Blasts Rupert Murdoch: Fox News' 'Trump-Hating, Fake Pollster' Behind Record-Low Approval Ratings

President Trump is unhappy with Fox News Channel again over the conservative outlet's poll finding that he has record-low approval ratings after the first 100 days of his second term in office.
"Rupert Murdoch has been telling me for years that he plans to dispose of his Fox News, which hates Trump and conducts fake polls, yet he has never followed through," Trump wrote. post on his Truth Social platform. "This ‘pollster' has gotten me, and MAGA, wrong for years."
Trump added that Murdoch "should start making changes at the China Loving Wall Street Journal. It sucks!!!"
Trump was evidently reacting to a new Fox News poll A poll of American voters published Wednesday revealed that President's job approval stood at 44%, which marks a decline of five percentage points since March and one point below his record-high 45% approval rating reached at the 100-day milestone in 2017. The recent figures show that during their initial 100 days in office, Trump’s approval ratings were lower compared to Biden's (54%), Obama's (62%), and George W. Bush's (63%). These statistics come courtesy of Fox News.

According to the recent Fox News survey, Donald Trump’s strongest support lies in border security, with an approval rate of 55%. However, as highlighted by Fox News, this is the sole area where he sees favorable numbers. Specifically, the data shows that on immigration, just 47% approve (with 48% disapproving). His lowest marks come from economic performance, which has hit a new low at 38% approving against 56% who do not. Other areas showing particularly poor ratings include inflation, with only 33% expressing approval versus 59% disapproval; tariffs, garnering 33% approvals compared to 58%; international affairs receiving 40% approval over 54%; tax policies approved by 38%, opposed by 53%; and gun control issues, rated positively by 41% but negatively by 44%.
Furthermore, according to the Fox News survey, Elon Musk’s collaboration with Trump regarding DOGE received strong criticism, as only 39% of Americans approved, while 56% disapproved.
The Fox News poll took place from April 18 to 21, 2025, involving 1,104 registered American voters. According to the network, this survey was conducted under the guidance of Beacon Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R).
