Crawford (Jim) ANDERSON

On 3rd April 2025, peacefully surrounded by the staff at Sandhills Court Care Home, Crawford passed away; he was 76 years old and resided in Scunthorpe. He leaves behind his beloved wife Pat, cherished roles as a parent, grandparent, son-in-law, sibling, uncle, and an irreplaceable presence among numerous friends. The funeral ceremony will occur on Thursday 1st May at Woodlands Crematorium in Scunthorpe at 2 pm. In accordance with family wishes, they respectfully ask for floral tributes exclusively. Should you wish to make contributions instead, these can be directed towards supporting Scunthorpe Hospital and Macmillan Cancer Support; such donations should either accompany attendees at the memorial or be dispatched directly to the charitable organisations mentioned above. Benjamin Francis DUNHAM

We share with deep sorrow the unexpected passing of dear Ben, who was 89 when he left us while under the care of the Diana Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby. On April 14th, 2025, surrounded by love from Fran and Lisa, Ben departed this world gently following a brief but valiant battle against an illness. To his family and friends, Ben served as a beloved companion, parent, grandfather, son-in-law, sibling, and uncle. His kindness touched numerous lives; everyone fortunate enough to know him adored him deeply. Though profoundly missed, his memory will endure eternally within our hearts. There will be a memorial gathering honouring Ben’s legacy at the Grimesy Crematorium on May 7th, 2025, starting at 11:15 am. Richard Michael HERRING

On 9th April 2025, at the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, Richard, who was 81 years old and from Tetney, sadly left us. He was deeply beloved as a devoted husband to Anne, an adored parent to Louise and Susan, a loving father-in-law, grandfather, sibling, brother-in-law, uncle, and dear companion to numerous people. There will be a memorial gathering for Richard’s life on Thursday, 8th May 2025, at 2:15 pm at the Grimsby Crematorium. Flowers should come exclusively from immediate family members per his wishes. Those wishing to make donations can do so in Mr Lane's honour; these contributions should be directed to The British Heart Foundation. Donation boxes will also be available during the ceremony. Michael KENDRICK

Passed away peacefully on April 10th, 2025, at the age of 74. Loving husband of Jenny, devoted father to Stuart, Sarah, and Michael, and doting grandfather to Holly, Leanne, and Margot. Adoring great-grandfather to Oliver and Alex, dear son-in-law to Jamie, Darran, and Ashleigh, and a true friend to countless people. An ardent fan of Grimsby Town Football Club and an influential presence within the local soccer scene. Mick will be warmly recalled for his wit, generosity, and zest for living. His favourite moments were spent touring Britain in his campervan alongside his dearest spouse, capturing unforgettable experiences together. Those fortunate enough to know him will profoundly miss him. Plans for celebrating Mick’s remarkable life will be announced subsequently. Always in our thoughts – Go up The Mariners!

Roy MACDONALD

On Tuesday, 8th April 2025, Roy, aged 84, peacefully passed away at his residence in Grimsby. Having been long awaited by his cherished daughter Fiona, parents, and sister Joan Hebdon, Roy has finally joined them. Though deeply mourned, Roy leaves behind nephews Charles, Stephen, and Sandy Hebdon as well as numerous great-nieces, -nephews, cousins, and close friends. His absence will undoubtedly leave a void among those who were fortunate enough to know him. A memorial gathering celebrating Roy’s life will occur on Wednesday, 7th May 2025, at 1 PM at the Treasured Memories Chapel located inside the premises of the Grimsby Crematorium. In respect of their wishes, floral tributes should not be sent; instead, donations may be made either directly during the ceremony via a collection box placed in the Garden of Remembrance following the proceedings or alternatively directed towards supporting the Grimsby Sailors and Fishermen's Charitable Trust. Susan (Sue) MARLAND

(Sue) Passed away peacefully following an extended battle with illness at St Mary’s Care Home, aged 72. She was previously from Epworth and Beltoft. Sue has been reunited with her dearly departed husband Brian; she leaves behind two loving children—Elizabeth and James—and their spouses David and Helen. Her four grandchildren, Sam and Kathryn among them, hold dear memories of Grandma Sue. Many friends mourn her passing as they remember her warm heart. We invite you to join us for a brief prayer session starting at 11:20 AM on Friday, May 2nd, just outside Beltoft Chapel prior to proceeding to Woodlands Crematorium where we’ll have the funeral service commencing promptly at midday. Lesley OLIVANT

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lesley Olivant on the 15th April 2025, in the wonderful care of Lindsey Lodge Hospice in Scunthorpe. Lesley was our dearly beloved mother, mother in law, grandmother, sister in law, aunt and dear friend to many. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and close friends. A funeral service will be held at Grimsby Crematorium on the 6th May at 9.45am. Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to Lindsey Lodge Hospice. Victoria Ruth (Vicky) ROWLAND

On 6th April 2025, at Scunthorpe General Hospital, Vicky passed away peacefully with her loved ones beside her. She was 73 years old and resided in South Ferriby. Known fondly as a caring sister, devoted aunt, friend to numerous people, and the dedicated branch secretary of the North Lincolnshire UNISON chapter for an extensive period, she will be deeply mourned by everyone whose lives she touched. Her memory will live on in their hearts forevermore. A memorial gathering celebrating Victoria’s life is scheduled for Friday, 9th May at Woodlands Crematorium at 14:00 hours. Floral tributes are welcomed; however, contributions towards Macmillan Cancer Support can also be made instead of flowers. These gifts should either be handed over during the ceremony or directly dispatched to the organisation itself. The bereaved family kindly requests those present to partake in light refreshments afterwards.

Barbara Bedford SCHOFIELD (Rhodes)

(Rhodes) With heavy hearts, we must share the unexpected yet serene departure of Barbara Bedford Schofield (née Rhodes), who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on April 13, 2025, at the age of 77. Devoted wife to Graham, their partnership lasting 48 cherished years; beloved mother to Sarah and John; and adoring grandmother to Shola, Tunde, and Lara. She was dearly loved and will profoundly be missed by everyone. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, May 8th, at Whitley Bay Crematorium at 1:30 pm.

Pattie Jean TOCK

Jean Tock, previously from Bottesford, Scunthorpe, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, aged 102 years old, at Holly Tree Lodge Care Home. Known affectionately by her loved ones simply as Jean, she was widely recognised within the community and will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her funeral service will be held at Woodlands Crematorium in Scunthorpe on May 6th at 12:40 PM.
