This year celebrates three decades since the formation of diplomatic bonds between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Korea—a crucial landmark in the annals of collaboration between these two amicable countries. This commemoration highlights the robust nature of our bilateral relationship, grounded in reciprocal regard, common goals, and a united dedication to progress, regional security, and global harmony.
This event underscores the robust and vibrant alliance that has developed between our two countries over time. We have constructed lasting connections of camaraderie and reciprocal comprehension among our citizens, and today we celebrate our common past while firmly pledging to enhance our collaboration in numerous areas moving forward. South Korea’s rise as a premier economic and tech center has garnered significant respect from numerous countries like Egypt. Concurrently, Egypt’s pivotal geographic position, vibrant populace, and continuous reform efforts offer substantial prospects for South Korean businesses and collaborators. The reciprocal acknowledgment of these potentials has facilitated an increasing scope of collaboration that yields concrete advantages for both states. We celebrate the extensive diplomatic missions and strategic talks that have augmented confidence and reinforced coordination among Cairo and Seoul. Through harnessing innovations, pooled knowledge, and collaborative resolve, we can collaboratively tackle critical issues such as global warming and local security concerns, aiming towards a greener and safer tomorrow.
In the last thirty years, the collaboration between Egypt and South Korea has thrived across numerous fields. Investments from South Korea into Egypt have increased substantially, as prominent South Korean firms actively contribute to the nation’s progress. Additionally, we've seen effective execution of significant joint initiatives via organizations such as the Korea International Cooperation Agency and the Economic Development Cooperation Fund at the Export-Import Bank of Korea.
Thanks to its advantageous geographical location, Egypt acts as a central nexus for commerce and investment, linking Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. As Egypt progresses along its developmental trajectory toward achieving Vision 2030, I am taking this moment to extend an invitation to our Korean counterparts to delve deeper into the extensive array of investment prospects present within Egypt’s current national initiatives—especially those centered around infrastructure, manufacturing, renewable energies, digitalization, education, cultural sectors, and intelligent urban developments.

Simultaneously, we greatly appreciate the dynamic cultural collaboration between our two countries, exemplified by the accord signed between South Korea’s Cultural Heritage Administration, Egypt’s Ministry of Culture, and the Supreme Council of Antiquities. Additionally, the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt has significantly contributed to promoting Korean language instruction and introducing Egyptian audiences to the depth and breadth of Korean art and traditions. Moreover, the increasing volume of tourist exchanges serves as another indicator of the strengthening personal ties supporting our bilateral relationship. Furthermore, Egypt’s involvement in tourism activities held in South Korea underscores both parties' commitment to nurturing substantial cultural and economic interaction.
On the occasion of celebrating three decades since the establishment of diplomatic ties between Egypt and South Korea, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to both the administration and citizens of the Republic of Korea for maintaining such enduring camaraderie. Looking ahead, we anticipate a year filled with festivities aimed at highlighting our collaborative progress via various cultural and business activities. This significant juncture should serve as an opportunity to honor our extensive history together while setting the stage for even more robust mutual cooperation well into the future.
