Third World War: A Real Possibility Warns Expert

Imangali Tasmagambetov, who leads the Russian-backed military coalition, has cautioned that the likelihood of a worldwide confrontation is significantly high because of escalating unrest and the proliferation of nuclear arms.

Since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine in February 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin has consistently threatened to employ nuclear warheads to attack Ukraine and compel the nearby nation to capitulate.

Despite President Donald Trump 'S commitment to quickly resolve the dispute remains unfulfilled as clashes persist between Kyiv and Moscow, with intermittent and uncertain peace talks ongoing.

Tasmagambetov , Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization ( CSTO), issued his stark warning during a speech at the Central Museum of the Armed Forces of Russia in Moscow.

“ The current transitional period carries the risk of a new global war being unleashed. We know that nuclear weapons and the near-universal tendency towards military escalation make a third world war a real possibility ,” he said.

“ This renders the examination of contemporary conflict possibilities not merely relevant but crucial—not solely for scholarly reasons, but also for shaping global political choices. ,” he added.
