Sinaloa Cartel Accused of Flooding Oregon With Deadly Fentanyl Surge
( The News Pulse ) — The Drug Enforcement Administration announced A significant drug seizure occurred in the Pacific Northwest earlier this week, leading to the apprehension of 46 individuals from Honduras.
According to the DEA, some of those apprehended were just 14 and 15 years old, operating on behalf of the Sinaloa cartel.
According to authorities, Honduran allegedly, drug traffickers supposedly inundated the area with drugs. Portland , Oregon, community with fentanyl and other drugs.
The DEA Special Agent in charge of the Seattle Field Division, David F. Reames, states that drug dealers are utilizing minors to peddle narcotics in Portland, Seattle, and various other urban areas within the Pacific Northwest.
Along with the arrests, authorities confiscated 2,507 fentanyl tablets, 44 pounds of fentanyl powder, 20 guns, over $200,000 in cash, 22 pounds of methamphetamine, 9 pounds of cocaine, and 2 pounds of heroin.
"The amount of fentanyl confiscated by our team in this case could have produced more than 1.5 million potentially fatal doses – sufficient to kill every person in Portland two times over," stated ReAMES.
"I'm proud that the DEA was able to assist our partners in bringing this escalation to a successful close, thus saving lives not only in Portland but across all of Oregon," he remarked.
