Shilo Sanders' Transformative Journey With Father Deion Before Joining the Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are giving a shot to a member of the well-known Sanders clan by signing Shilo Sanders—one of Deion Sanders’ offspring—to an undrafted free agent deal before he joins rookie minicamp and training camp. Joining him in this venture into the NFL is his sibling, Shedeur, whom the Browns selected in the fifth round of the recent draft.
When entering the league, both Shilo and Shedeur used their father, Deion, as their agent. However, this was not the situation for Shilo when he ultimately signed a contract with the Bucs.
After Shedeur and Shilo were selected in the draft and subsequently signed as undrafted free agents (UDFA), respectively, Shilo disclosed during a livestream that he had switched from being represented by Deion to signing with renowned NFL agent Drew Rosenhaus prior to joining the Tampa Bay team.
Dad used to be our agent, but things haven't been going well," Shilo stated. "So today I had to sign up with a new agent, man.
This decision probably follows Shedeur’s unusual drop during the NFL Draft, where he ended up being selected in the fifth round. Hiring Rosenhaus turned out to be beneficial for Shilo because she most likely gained access to the Buccaneers via her new representative—Rosenhaus also manages Haason Reddick, Deion Jones, and Anthony Walker Jr., who all play linebacker for the Bucs.
Shilo may face an arduous challenge to secure a spot on Tampa Bay’s roster, but considering the underwhelming group of safeties they have and his proficiency in tackling on special teams, he could potentially remain with the team even after cuts are made.
