“I think a big part of [my transition] is also the influence Black women have had on me. I think stepping into this new identity, while also being more proud of my Blackness, makes me feel closer to them in some way.”

Airyn disclosed that during get-togethers with her paternal relatives, they frequently talk about how joyful her father was when he was in a relationship with her mother.

She expressed her desire to be seen similarly to how her mother is viewed. "It’s about either deploying her charisma or refraining from wearing a facade, essentially aiming to embody femininity in an approachable and amiable manner."
