Ravens Choose LSU Guard in NFL Draft

In the 2025 NFL Draft, with the No. 243 selection, Their 11th and last in the event , the Baltimore Ravens have chosen LSU offensive lineman Garrett Dellinger.

The Ravens have since chosen two players from LSU. offensive linemen as they had chosen before tackle Emery Jones Jr. during the third round on Friday evening.

Originating from Clarkston, Mich., Dellinger experimented with various roles during the initial phase of his career before firmly establishing himself as a left guard by his junior year in 2023. That year, he began all 13 games at this position. However, in 2024, following an intervention known as 'tightrope surgery' for a severe ankle injury, he managed to take part in just seven matches.

With a height of 6-4 and weighing 325 pounds, Dellinger possesses the physical attributes ideal for an NFL lineman, yet he requires some improvement in his techniques.

Safety prospect featuring a strong, sturdy build, Lance Zierlein of NFL.com included in his player evaluation Dellinger provides versatility as both a center and guard, with game film showing numerous confrontations against strong competitors. While he isn’t known for pushing his opponents around, Dellinger demonstrates excellent knee bend, solid contact engagement, and reliable techniques when participating in runs.

He ranks slightly lower in pass protection, where his set-ups often appear lengthy and cumbersome, leaving him vulnerable to counterattacks and twists. When engaging defenders, he uses his arms deliberately and usually takes the impact effectively. While he may serve primarily as a backup option across various blocking systems, he has the potential to deliver solid performances when called upon for extended playing time.

The Ravens needed additional depth across their inside offensive line and possibly competition for starting guard positions. While Dellinger likely won’t vie for a starting role this season, he might serve as a reliable backup option.

The Ravens have now wrapped up their 2025 draft class, though there will of course be undrafted free agents to watch for in the coming days.
