Police Make Arrest Following Barre Shooting

The Barre City Police department has initiated an inquiry following a shooting that resulted in one individual being wounded on Thursday. Local officials verified the event occurred on North Main Street shortly after 6 p.m.
The Barre City Police Chief stated that the incident occurred near the 800 block of North Main Street. Around 7:30 p.m., at least six patrol cars were present at the location. Both the Barre City Police and the Washington County Sheriff’s Department arrived on the scene to respond.
The police mentioned that an individual was shot, and another person was apprehended.
Information about the victim's condition was not immediately available. Police said there was no risk to the public, but the investigation remains active.
