OnePlus 12 Gets a Boost: Partial Screen Recording, Fresh Widgets, and Enhanced Security

OnePlus has begun deploying the OxygenOS 15.0.0.801 update for the OnePlus 12 In India, the release version is CPH2573_15.0.0.801(EX01). This update is rolling out gradually and will be available for additional users over the next few days.

The update introduces the capability for partial screen recording, enabling users to choose and capture just a particular section of the screen rather than the entire display.

The system has undergone some modifications as well. You can now find new clock widgets on the Home screen that display both the local time and the present weather conditions. Additionally, an optional stacked view feature has been introduced to the Recent Tasks screen; this setting can be enabled or disabled via "Settings – Home screen & Lock screen – Recent tasks manager."

In Ultra Energy Saver mode, the selection of pre-installed applications has been refreshed, and the procedure for including new apps has become more straightforward. Adjusting a personalized ringtone during the addition or modification of a contact entry has also been simplified.

The update enhances gesture recognition for dismissing floating windows and fine-tunes the shadows around these windows to ensure more fluid interactions. In terms of security, it includes the April 2025 Android security patch.

OnePlus has simplified issue reporting for Indian users as well. Problems can now be flagged directly via the "Bug Report" segment within the OnePlus Community app’s user profile. Additionally, individuals can call *#800# to reach the feedback tool.

As this is a phased release, initially just a limited number of users will receive the update, followed by a wider deployment scheduled for a few days later.
