New Hope Village: Empowering Trafficking Survivors with Vital Assistance

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - A new home will be added to Hope Village to assist trafficking survivors.

The Mississippi Coalition Against Human Trafficking (MCAHT) has joined forces with Dr. Kimberly Hogan and Dr. Gretchen Goode of Southern Miss to work alongside Hope Village in developing a program aimed at helping victims transition into survivors.

This will help them obtain an education and secure employment to become self-reliant, enabling them to heal and flourish.

This initiative will include all 82 counties of Mississippi.

"This is a population we've never focused on previously. These young girls have experienced abuse and undergone traumatic events. However, they require somewhat more support compared to those residing in our group homes," explained Terri Province, who serves as the Executive Director at Hope Village for Children.

There are numerous ways to participate in this initiative. Providing mentorship has been proven to boost children’s confidence, making volunteer work an excellent means of contributing to Hope Village.
