Media and Production (Part-time Candidate Reserve)

The role of Mass Media & Production for part-time applicants focuses on delivering courses in ways that enhance students' understanding and command of the subject matter. Faculty members are motivated to engage in developing new courses, assessing programs and curricula, advising students, contributing to college services, and pursuing professional growth opportunities. Reporting directly to the Dean of Liberal Arts, this position necessitates certain requirements. PA Child Abuse , PA State Police , and FBI Fingerprinting Clearance documents must be sent to human resources before your initial workday.

Key Education, Instruction, Abilities, and Professional Background:

  • A master’s degree, or something of similar standing, in a relevant area from an authorized educational body is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Suites like Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Audition, and After Effects.
  • A minimum of two years of hands-on and specialized experience in the Mass Media sector is necessary.
  • Capability to instruct classes covering Theory, History, and Media/Film studies as well as production courses such as New Media, Scriptwriting, Journalism, Film and Television Production, and Editing/Post Production.
  • Proven capability to instruct undergraduate students with varying skill levels. Experience at a community college is desirable.
  • Showed dedication to employing cutting-edge teaching methods and tools as well as utilizing course management platforms.
  • Familiarity with competency-based education is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a comprehensive community college philosophy.

Communication Studies Faculty (Part-time Applicant Pool)

The Communication Studies Faculty (Part-time Applicant Pool) position teaches assigned courses in a manner that facilitates student learning and mastery of course material. Part-time faculty are encouraged to participate in course and curriculum development, program and course assessment, student advisement, college service, and professional development. This role reports to the Dean of Liberal Arts. This position requires the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances to be submitted to human resources prior to the first day of employment.

Key Education, Instruction, Abilities, and Professional History:

  • A master’s degree or doctoral qualification in Speech Communication, Communication Studies, Strategic Communication, or Public Relations from a recognized institution is necessary.
  • Having college-level teaching experience is desirable. Experience at a community college level is particularly valued.
  • Exhibited evidence of continued professional growth and development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the use of innovative instructional techniques and technologies and use of course management systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the use of a variety of teaching activities to address diverse learning styles.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the incorporation of information literacy resources, technology, research, writing, and culturally diverse perspectives into the curriculum.
  • Knowledge of competency-based education preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continual assessment of the teaching-learning process.
  • Demonstrated commitment to work with diverse populations, such as under-resourced groups and first-generation students.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to a comprehensive community college philosophy.
