Missing National Merit Scholar From Corydon: Princeton Student Still Unfound

CORYDON, Ind. (WAVE) - The hunt for a missing Princeton University student escalated on Wednesday as teams searched an adjacent lake hoping to find signs of her. The 23-year-old student, Lauren Blackburn, previously lived in Corydon, Indiana, and was recognized as a National Merit Scholar.

According to New Jersey Authorities Blackburn was last spotted on Saturday evening at the campus library and is currently being reported as missing. When he disappeared, he was dressed in blue jeans with tears near the knees, a yellow T-shirt, a black zipper-front hoodie, and blue flat-soled shoes.

The NBC station serving Philadelphia stated that law enforcement was present at Lake Carnegie close to Princeton University’s grounds during the early part of Tuesday afternoon as teams looked for Blackburn.

The New Jersey authorities stated that they were conducting searches close to Lake Carnegie on Tuesday after receiving signals from a missing individual's phone indicating proximity to the lake. However, it remains unclear whether their search was specifically aimed at locating Blackburn.

The university’s newspaper, The Daily Princetonian , reported That an urgent notification was issued to students at Princeton University on Tuesday regarding Blackburn’s disappearance.

The newspaper additionally mentioned that counseling services will be provided to affected students. University Vice President for Student Life W. Rochelle Calhoun encouraged everyone to keep Blackburn in their thoughts as well.
