Milford getting ready for RAGBRAI

MILFORD, Iowa (KCAU) — RAGBRAI is just three months away, and towns along this year’s route are busy getting ready to host thousands of cyclists from around the world.

One of those towns is Milford, Iowa. Milford is the first overnight town on the route, and this is the first time the town has hosted RAGBRAI. The town is planning on having the bikers stay at three city parks in town, and they are also in the process of getting permission from private landowners to let the bikers camp on private land. Downtown Milford will also be closed from 8th Street to 13th Street along Highway 71.

Mid America Museum announces upcoming events

The town is looking forward to showing thousands of guests what Milford has to offer.

This presents an occasion for folks to pause, check out what we've got and what services we provide within the city of Milford," stated Mayor Steve Anderson. "All the attention we're directing towards the downtown area—every bit of entertainment and more—is aimed at providing local businesses with a chance to showcase their talents.

The Milford RAGBRAI Committee has unveiled the lineup of entertainers for their stop. Rock a la Carte will perform before The Schmidt Brothers take the stage. Notably, The Schmidt Brothers also performed at this year’s RAGBRAI route announcement event held in January in Des Moines.
