Man from Harvey Arrested for Marrero Shooting That Left Teen Critically Injured

A man from Harvey has been taken into custody and charged with attempting to commit first-degree murder following a shooting incident involving a 15-year-old boy on Wednesday in Marrero, according to our partners at The Times Picayune report.

Shawn Dubois, who is 19 years old, was additionally charged with obstructing justice, according to Sgt. Brandon Veal from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.

The deputies think Dubois fired shots at the teenager near a house on the 700 block of Justice Court around 9 a.m. The injured youth was transported by personal car to West Jefferson Medical Center and reached the ER at 9:21 a.m., according to Veal. Staff members at the hospital alerted law enforcement officials.

The teenager was subsequently moved to University Medical Center in New Orleans and continued to be in critical condition as of Thursday, said Veal.
