Man Arrested and Charged with Murder in Early April Triple Homicide

A man is being held in custody and is now confronting murder allegations. following a triple murder in the Portland district In early April, as stated by the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD).
Kody Warf, who is 29 years old, faces three charges of murder.
Around 4:59 a.m. on April 8, LMPD officers were dispatched to a shooting incident in the 2200 block of Griffiths Avenue, as stated in an LMPD press statement.
When officers arrived at the location, they discovered two males and one female within a house who had sustained gunshots. Emergency medical services pronounced all of them dead soon after arrival.
The Jefferson County Coroner's Office has confirmed the identities of the victims as 37-year-old Mallory Cox, 49-year-old David H. Clark Jr., and another individual named Robert M. Auter who was also 37 years old.
As stated by the LMPD, Warf was taken into custody on April 12 when police noticed his vehicle in the 1700 block of Hill Street within the Algonquin area.
Previously, Warf was subject to a felony warrants issued from Floyd County, Indiana.
When detectives turned on their lights and sirens to stop him, Warf sped away.
While driving away from the detectives, Warf crashed into one of their cars and another parked car in the area, causing serious damage to both vehicles.
According to the arrest citation, damage to both cars is estimated at over $1,000.
After the crash, Warf got out of the car and attempted to run away but was later detained.
When officers conducted a search of his car, they found a stolen gun and other items used to manufacture ammunition, according to an arrest citation.
During the arrest, Warf also provided police with a fake name and birthdate. He was also driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance.
After being placed in handcuffs, Warf tried to run from police a second time but was later detained, according to the arrest citation.
In an update Thursday, police said 26 people positively identified him in this case.
"The search for you has ended, as you can’t escape responsibility for these actions and have never been able to,” stated LMPD spokesperson Dwight Mitchell. “Though the process of justice may be slow at times, this situation exemplifies how swiftly matters can progress when collaboration takes place. When everyone contributes information, investigations move fast due to collective efforts.”
Along with being charged with three counts of murder, Warf is also accused of possessing a firearm as a previously convicted individual, evading law enforcement, causing damage to property, committing third-degree escape, giving misleading details to the police, acquiring stolen goods, and driving without a valid license.
"The individual’s apprehension represents a substantial advancement in the continuing probe and quest for justice for the survivors and their loved ones," stated LMPD in a press release.
