JCPS Launches Bus Driver Blitz: Aiming to Bolster Staffing Across the District

Jefferson County Public Schools is searching for individuals interested in embarking on a new career behind the wheel.

The district organized a Bus Driver Blitz at the Van Hoose Education Center on Friday afternoon.

Over 100 individuals attended the gathering, providing them an opportunity to initiate their application process.

J.T. Henning serves as an administrative bus trainer at JCPS. He mentioned that the new schedule might particularly benefit individuals with family obligations.

“When classes end, we’re free,” Henning stated. “You’ve got your whole summer ahead. There’s plenty of time for lots of travel and all sorts of activities.”

The district assists applicants in obtaining their Commercial Driver's License along with a School Bus Driving Certificate.
