CAIRO (The News Pulse) - The Islamic State West Africa Province has taken credit for an assault on Nigeria’s northeastern region of Borno that resulted in the death of at least 26 individuals. This information was conveyed in a statement posted on Telegram on Tuesday.

For more than 15 years, Islamist militants from groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP have been clashing with Nigerian armed forces primarily in the northeastern region of the country. These insurgent factions frequently employ homemade bombs to attack both civilian populations and military personnel.
