You were everything to me—my guiding light, my confidante, and truly the finest mum anybody could hope for. Without you here, life feels profoundly different, but each evening when I press my lips to your photograph, sadness washes over me alongside waves of cherished recollections spanning forty-two wonderful years. These moments with you mean more than anything else would ever do. Until we’re reunited one day, mum. Barbara SMITH (BROOKS)

Truly the finest mother and grandmother anyone could ask for. It’s impossible to put into words how deeply we’re all hurting right now. She was an extraordinary mother whose generosity knew no bounds; her affection was unwaveringly selfless. Whenever I needed guidance, she offered both comforting words and wise counsel without ever passing judgment. Her acceptance of who I truly was brought out my very best. Simply by sharing this life with us, she enriched everything around her. As your devoted son, I draw strength from knowing you’ve been released from pain and find solace in imagining you resting peacefully. Already having discovered where your spirit resides, I promise to seek refuge there whenever sorrow weighs heavy upon me. There too, I’ll introduce our latest family member so they may know you through them. Soar gracefully among the celestial beings above, Mother, yet do keep watch over me when you can because I shall forever gaze upward towards heaven longing for sight of you. With boundless love and profound grief, Paul xoxo A remarkable woman who inspired many. To have become part of your family brings immense pride. The heavens welcomed another guardian angel today. Emma xoxo Grandma, though your feathers had grown strong enough to fly away, ours remain fragile still. For grandchildren—Claire, Kelly, Nikki, Amelia & Charlie—and great-grandchildren: Marcus, Aaron, Leisha & Joel.
