Have the Rams Ever Made a Pick at No. 46 in NFL Draft History?

The Los Angeles Rams now have the No. 46 pick after a first-round trade with the Atlanta Falcons . Unless another trade occurs this will be L.A.'s first selection in the 2025 NFL Draft.

While the Rams are no strangers to waiting to make a pick, the No. 46 overall selection is a bit of a mystery for the franchise. Rams have picked at this spot five times since 1954, with their most recent one coming almost 20 years ago in 2006.

History has not been kind to the Rams at this spot, though. Only one players played in more than three seasons for the Rams, and none finished their NFL careers with the team. But with Les Snead and Sean McVay at the helm anything can happen.

2006: Colorado TE Joe Klopfenstein

Klopfenstein played just three years with the Rams with 386 yards on 33 receptions and two touchdowns. He played one more year in the NFL — for the Buffalo Bills.

1988: UCLA Wide Receiver Flipper Anderson

Anderson enjoyed a consistent 10-year tenure in the NFL, spending seven years with the Rams. Over the course of 106 games, he amassed 259 receptions for 5,246 yards and scored 26 touchdowns. Notably, he achieved two 1,000-yard receiving seasons in consecutive years, 1989 and 1990, leading the league in yards per catch during those periods. After his time with the Rams, Anderson went on to play an additional three seasons—completing one year with another team. Indianapolis Colts One featuring Washington and another with the Denver Broncos.

1978: Stan Johnson from the Tennessee State University football team

During the 1978 season, Johnson participated in just 10 games with the Rams, according to Pro Football Reference. No statistics were documented from his tenure with the squad.

1956: Wisconsin-La Crosse Halfback Will Berzinski

Despite being drafted by the Rams, Berzinski played the 1956 season for the Philadelphia Eagles He ran the ball 15 times for 72 yards with no touchdowns across four matches.

In 1954, Norm Nygaard from San Diego State played football as a fullback.
