The ongoing firefighting efforts are hampered by strong winds, prompting Iranian authorities to declare a state of emergency in response to both the immediate danger and the significant increase in air pollution caused by the incident. Residents are urged to remain inside with their windows shut and refrain from engaging in any outdoor activities. A representative of Iran’s government, Fatemah Mohajerani, noted that determining the precise reason behind the explosion could take some time, stating, "It will be difficult to identify the source until the flames are fully contained."
