Exclusive: Bitcoin Jedi Pays Roger Stone $600K bezpo

Roger J. Stone Jr., a longtime associate of President Donald Trump, has been advocating on behalf of a well-known cryptocurrency entrepreneur referred to as "Bitcoin Jesus." This individual is presently confronting federal accusations related to fraud and taxes, according to The New York Times on Friday.

A report from The Times highlighted that according to congressional records, Stone handed over papers showing he was hired by Roger Ver, an initial Bitcoin backer accused of concealing his crypto assets worth approximately $48 million to evade taxation charges filed against him previously.

Previously residing in California, Ver renounced his U.S. citizenship in 2014. He was apprehended in Spain according to the Justice Department reports from last year.

Recently, Stone disclosed that he has been granted $600,000 from Ver starting back in early February to aid him in handling his client’s case. It is understood that Ver made efforts to nullify the tax stipulations at the heart of the accusations.

In January, Ver shared a video on social media where he dismissed the accusations made against him, stating that he was being threatened with the possibility of over 100 years in prison because of his political views and his role in promoting cryptocurrency.

The video was a direct appeal to Trump where Ver linked his circumstances with the president’s worries about the purported abuse of the legal system.

In the video, he stated, "They're treating me exactly as they've treated you."
